aaaahhhh! (aka about flickr)

i went to flickr and typed in 'korea' and looked at the pictures. then i narrowed my search to 'busan, korea' and looked at those pictures. it drove me crazy cuz i want to go back to korea so stinkin' bad!!!! it was weird how some pictures looked familiar. i though, have i seen that before? and then of course i had to wonder if i was just making it up cuz i wanted to have seen it before. i'm sure i had seen some of those places before; i just couldn't remember what they were called. korean is such a complicated language to hear and then connect with the written word. i mean, they say something and you see it on paper and you're like, 'huh?!' but anyway, that was cool. you could see pictures of korea through the lenses of people all over the world. and it seemed to me that you could tell which lense you were seeing through. the americans/europeans see korea differently than koreans and other asians. but anyway, i guess that's all for now.

really sweet subscriptions

k, that's a lame title for this blog, but who cares. anyway, i like RSS. i think it's a brilliant idea, and will help me keep up on stuff that i wouldn't usually a) make time for or b) remember to check up on. i think i'll like it even more once i get the chance to really play with it, add stuff i actually want on there. ;D so anyway, i think RSS is cool. i'm glad i get the chance to learn about all this cool stuff. etc. etc. and so forth.

keyword: social

i think the world revolves around social. social networking. social bookmarking. social communication. society. my fiance is going to college to be a sociologist. !!!??

but anyway. what do i think of social bookmarking. hm. i'm not really sure. i guess for now i would say it's kind of cool. gets all your junk in once place, and it's really nice that it can be accessed from anywhere. that way, if i had some spare time somewhere i could find all my stuff on a library computer or a school computer or somewhere with an internet connection. that's definitely points in its favor.

i think the library could greatly benefit from using social bookmarking in a lot of ways. that homework helper they have? you could post all sorts of cool links about anything academic to a general del.icio.us site just for that purpose, and kids could go to it and get the information they need. you could do the same thing with book clubs, hot topics, book lists and reviews... the list is endless. i mean, the library is a conduit of information, right? so they could post anything about anything and someone would find it useful. or just interesting, and that counts.

i posted links i bookmarked, like dictionary.com, the local classical radio station's internet streaming, krl2pt0 link, my blogger sign in page, and my gmail account page. it's nice to have all this stuff accessible from anywhere.
cuz with the exception of dictionary.com, which is an easy address to remember, it's not so easy to just go straight to krl2pt0 or my blogger sign in page. i don't know about you, but i've got more important things on my mind than the dots and dashes and dot coms that go in which address. >grins< so yeah, it's nice.

it was really interesting to see how many other people used those sites in their del.icio.us accounts. there were quite a few people using dictionary.com, and even more using yahoo!. so it was kind of neat to see those statistics.

blogs??!!!

k, so is anyone else frustrated with the lack of variety for blog templates? is there some way we could just make our own?
so. i'm supposed to blog about stuff i read from our assignment sheet. i liked what that australian lady had to say about why we should spend time learning this stuff. a first i was just in it for the mp3 player, but now i see it'll be worth it for the learning's sake alone.

after this training, i'll be able to better understand my friend next time he tells me about facebook vs. myspace and how facebook is so much better. i'll know what he's talking about and be able to make the comparison and come to my own conclusions based on research.

about the 43 things, well, that just sounded way cool. i'm definitely one of those list makers, and i certainly love to scratch things off my list. i'm addicted to that feeling of accomplishment. ;D and aren't we encouraged to play while learning?
